This is usually also true for the rear glass. In contrast, the windshield is typically made of laminated glass. In addition to visibility, it lends structural integrity to your vehicle, particularly in a rollover. If your windshield has a small chip or crack, it may be a candidate for repair if the damage is not directly in the driver’s line of sight. If the damage is large or extensive, the only safe option is a replacement.
